The ULAND Game Part 1— Next Generation in Strategy Gaming on the Blockchain

Hello! It’s been a while since we last did a post. But as they say: No news is GOOD NEWS! 😉 We’ve been hard at work over the past few months: Coders were coding, Graphics Designers were designing and Product has been… producing. 😂

It’s been a hard, but rewarding few months putting everything together. When we started out, ULAND was a dream of passion and little did we know the incredible uptake we would get. So we rolled up our sleeves, worked like crazy to ensure the Next Level of ULAND is going to have the solid foundations it needs to become the biggest, baddest MetaVerse Strategy Game out there. 🤘

With the release of our new Website, Lite Paper and Game Guide we’ve hit a crucial milestone in our journey: We are ready to announce our Game to the world. Our ducks are all in line, marketing strategy is in place and now it’s time to pull the trigger. But before we get into that, let’s go over some of the highlights of what we’re about to release.

The ULAND Game

The long awaited ULAND Game is finally revealed! It is the game that the founders have played, dreamt of playing and wish to play. We wanted to to create something that has the elements of our favourite childhood games: Age of Empires, Civilisation, Heroes of Might & Magic, Red Alert, Clash Royale and many more. But how do you squeeze that much awesomeness into one game?

Using the WHOLE WORLD as your playing field and splitting them into a million Hex Plots that can be owned, developed, built upon and mined is certainly a start. Furthermore these T3 (Tier 3) Hex Plots are geographically mapped to the real world, allowing players to experience these virtual Lands like their real world counterpart.

There are two main parts of the game: The Empire building part and the PVP Hero Battle Arena part. Both parts operate interdependently, but when played as a whole will offer a truely immersive experience. After all, carving out an Empire requires economic as well as battle prowess.

The newly revealed T3 Hex Plots are where the game takes place. Each Hex Plot has a rarity on what hidden natural resources can be found. Buy it and discover what lies beneath!

🔍 Explore your Hex Plot to discover what rare goodies 🎁 lie within your borders. Once explored it will reveal whether you have struck literal Gold! Perhaps farmable fields or a forest for Lumber? Either way it’s YOUR LAND and you can choose wether to extract its resources, build upon it or simply utilise it as a trade route (Great way to earn Border Taxes 💰).

🪵 Natural Resources such as Gold, Stone, Wood & Diamond can be mined/harvested. You will need them to build Cities and Businesses (Maybe one day even special monuments? I’m looking at you Eiffel Tower🗼). Don’t have enough resources? Trade what you’re missing with other players in ULAND’s central Marketplace. They can even be traded for Battle Cards (More on this later) or exchanged for $XPLR Tokens.

FYI: Mines, Lumber Yards & Stone Quarries are actually Businesses! 😯 Businesses are NFT’s and can be bought or sold via the Marketplace. As a Hex Plot Landholder YOU can choose whether you want to run these businesses yourself or sell it to someone else to run. How cool is that? 🙌

🌆 What about Cities? That’s a good question. Some Hex Plots are special City Hex Plots. Cities represent a futuristic, real-world counterpart of existing cities. Just like in our world, there is only one New York City, so these Hexes will be highly coveted due to their popularity and unique utility. However, they may not be rich in natural resources, so strategy is key, as you need vast amounts of resources to build them.

Pro Tip/Hint: Everything in ULAND is designed to mirror our counterpart Earth as closely as possible. 😉

Hero Battles

Where do Heroes and Battling fit into all of this? Well, for starters you need a Hero to explore your newly acquired Hex Plot. After all, who else is gonna do it for you? 😉

Heroes are unique NFT collectables and is the avatar that embodies your Empire. Use him/her to have exciting match ups in real time Player vs Player (PVP) Battles on Hex Plots. Arenas will be dynamically generated on fixed-sized hex grids in Cities across the World, creating continually changing battle experiences.

⚔️ Initiate Battle and you will be matched with another player. Before you start battling, the match will display what rewards are up for grabs (Natural Resources, $XLPR etc.) and choose which Battle Cards to deploy for this match. Battle Cards will gain you a strategic edge. Deploy a Time Bomb at the the right moment to stop the enemy Hero in their tracks or Quantic Wall to block an incoming attack.

📣 Let the battle begin! The battle arena will unfold and reveal itself on the world map between designated Hex Plots. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to either eliminate the enemy Hero, their base or both. You will need to advance across Hex Plots to get to your opponent and their base.

🏆 To the Victor go the Spoils! Win or lose you will get a percentage of the predetermined in-game rewards based on how much damage you’ve dealt. Furthermore, all the Landholders, in which the battle was fought will receive a % of the battle rewards starting with T3 HEX Plots, T2 Regions and T1 Countries. 🥳 Another reason why becoming an early Landholder will reap you many in-game rewards!

This concludes Part 1 of our two part article. The ULAND Game has been a long time coming and we hope you are as delighted as we are in the intricacies of the game mechanics. We wanted to create something that was fun, addictive, social and unique, by combining our favourite parts of our favourite games.

In Part 2 we will explore our two tokens $ULAND & $XPLR in more detail, new in-game rewards, next ULAND milestones and roadmap until the end of the year.
